How this started
I had a round of blood tests late in 2020, sadly but not unexpectedly they were my worst ever. I was already on blood pressure medication, the doctor upped my pre diabetes medication, told me I had a fatty liver, and pushed me really hard to start taking the cholesterol drugs he had been trying to get me to take for the last 3 or 4 years.
We all know there are a lot of people trying to improve their health and wellbeing. There is an obvious need, you just need to look at the celebrity based searches last month, almost 600,000 people searched on “adele weight loss” in the US, and over 130,000 people for “rebel wilson weight loss”.
Unfortunately not all of us have the means to access the coaches and consultants of the rich and famous. We are left to work on DIY programs, play with the latest fad diet, or enrol into a mass produced program that tends to lack flexibility and offers cookie cutter solutions.
So what do you do?

Let me share with you some brief detail on how FMDZen works;
It’s effectively a three stage process,
- We identify your challenges to give you certainty of purpose
- We provide you with a tailored approach to improve your mindset, food choices and exercise ensuring you have a great experience that sticks!

Each week we will set you up with a number of wellness tasks to focus on, each month you will need to commit to doing a minimum 3 day Fasting Mimicking Diet or FMD (ergo mainly vegetables for 3 days straight at around 800 calories per day) every month for at least the first 3 months. Don’t underestimate this commitment, doing FMD takes mental strength, particularly when you hit the wall during Day 2 and 3. We’ll explain why inside.
Then between the monthly fasts, each week we work with the Japanese concept of “kaizen” or continuous improvement, this will encompass diet, eating habits, exercise, helping internal organs perform better, peace of mind and stress reduction. I recently went on a paid diet program for 3 months, which seemed to be a cover to pitch me supplements. Anyway I lost 8kgs in 3 months, but once off I was off the program I put on 14kgs. That worked well!
